Welcome to our December Newsletter.

Christmas opening hours

Our offices will be closed over the Christmas period, but we will operate an emergency service on the 28^th 29^th and 30^th of December 2022.  Please contact us if necessary at enquiries@blackravencu.ie on these dates.  We will resume normal service on the 3^rd of January 2023.

Annual General Meeting 2022 

We will be hosting a virtual AGM on the 18^th of January 2023 and formal notice will issue to each Member in early January 2023. There will be a draw for 5 One For All vouchers of €100 (€500 in total) available as prizes for those who log in to view the AGM. We take this opportunity to remind you that your voice matters to the Board and Management of Black Raven Credit Union Ltd.  Every Member is welcome to attend.

New Year 2023 

The New Year period is a perfect time to reassess your financial commitments and consider whether you can save some hard-earned money and put it to better use. 

Outstanding Credit Card Balances 

Consider clearing any outstanding credit card balances with a credit union loan and save considerable interest.

Credit Union Car Loans vs PCP Agreements

Our Special Car Loan rate at 5.90% is excellent value compared to other Car Loans on the market.  It's good practice to consider the pros and cons of a credit union loan versus a PCP agreement.  The monthly payments for a PCP agreement may seem more affordable than a credit union loan but when you consider the following:

1. Free to Member Insurance for your full loan balance
2. You own your car when you drive it off the garage forecourt
3. No penalty for early repayment
4. You can buy privately or from any Dealership

 

The PCP agreement doesn’t seem like good value. 

Switch and Save 

Do you have several loans with different payment dates during the month? We at Black Raven can examine your outgoings and switch your loans into one loan which means one affordable repayment each month on a date that suits you and also which will save you money by reducing the overall amount of interest you pay. In most cases the term of your existing  loans will also be reduced which means you will be debt free sooner than you had thought.  We are available to discuss this further with you at any time.
